Building community and the future of the Arts
one connection at a time.
The performing arts bring people together like nothing else can. The Miners Alley Performing Arts Center is more than theatre — we’re here to build community, contribute to a thriving downtown, open a place for kids to learn, and create a hub for meetings, events and classes in the heart of Golden.
World-Class Theatre
We attract top talent from across the country; providing actors, directors, writers, designers and technicians with professional opportunities to hone their skills and pay their bills. We are proud to be an Actors Equity Union Theatre.
Extensive Educational opportunities for Kids & Adults
Programs for kids range from Acting Classes to Summer Camps, giving students from 2nd-8th grade the skills required to perform while building confidence, teamwork and listening skills. Students gain experience in the basics, scene study, callback workshops, improv, audition prep and more.
A welcoming experience for all
We believe theatre is for everyone. We’ve built a comfortable, intimate setting that feels like home — close to the stage and the action with professional lighting, sound and amazing sightlines. Come as you are, and hang out with the actors, crew and your neighbors at the bar, lounge or our event space.
Our Mission
The Miners Alley Performing Arts Center mission is to be an educational and experience-oriented professional theatre — to provide opportunities for actors, directors, writers, designers, and technicians to gain valuable experience in a positive and supportive environment and get paid a living wage.
Our HISTORY
Founded in 1993 as Morrison Theatre Company, the Miners Alley Playhouse moved to Golden in 2003 with support from the greater Golden community and Golden Civic Foundation. After nearly a decade of unprecedented growth, MAPAC became a proud member of actors equity in 2019, cementing our status as one of the premier small professional theatres in the region.
