AUDITIONS

Miners Alley Playhouse announces auditions on the Colorado Theatre Guild website, Actor’s Equity, and through the Miners Alley Facebook Page. Current auditions are listed below when available.

Auditions for “Amelia’s Big Idea”:

Amelia’s Big Idea –
a TYA musical created by Heather Beasley, Richard Cannaday, and Edie Carey

About the Show
In this Theater for Young Audiences musical, the actors play their own instruments and play multiple characters. (Stylistically, think of shows like Once, Frog and Toad, and Shakespeare Abridged.)
This show relies on audience participation and appeals to ages 3 and up. The show is performed by adult actors and show length runs just under 1 hr. Actors will be expected to interact with the kids in the lobby before the show and say good-bye to the kids after the show as the audience leaves.

Play Description
Ten-year-old Amelia Smart wants to build a dog park. Her pet Gadget needs a safe place to play, but her big idea to transform Townville will take a lot of work! Along her way, Amelia gets help from the Mayor, the Librarian, Mr. Delivery, and other citizens of Townville. Kids will learn about teamwork, community, and civic ambition through catchy songs and live acoustic music played by the performers.

We will also list race/ethnicity when specific to the character but are otherwise seeking all races and ethnicities.
