2020 Theatre Summer Camps
Kids are some of the best storytellers in the world. This Miners Alley Playhouse YETI class gives them the chance to team together to write a short play about anything that sparks their interest — and their fertile minds come up with some pretty amazing stories!

Week 2 (Ages 10-12)

Tell Someone Else’s Story
The same format as Week 1 Outdoor Camp, only this time it’s for the older kids!
Most plays actors perform in are written by someone else. This week will give the kids a chance to tell a story from another perspective. It is important to learn to tell stories that are new and different. It is one of the best ways to find out about people and things they have never experienced before.
“In the Box” is a royalty-free play by Elizabeth Rapoza, part of a fantastic collection of plays for kids and teens on Drama Notebook.
Week 3 (Ages 6-9)

EXPLORE THE WORLD OF IMPROV!

Beginning on Tuesday right after Memorial Day, this is the perfect time to spark your teenager’s imagination! In just four days they will explore the World of Improv and create scenarios and situations both fun and insightful!
Final Performance on Friday, June 3rd at 2:00
Week 2: June 6-10, Ages 6-9 ~ Only 7 Spots Left!
WRITE YOUR OWN PLAY!
Monday-Friday 9:00AM-2:00PM

This has been our most popular format since we began it in 2015. Your kids come up with the characters, they come up with the stories and they never cease to amaze and amuse with their own unique perspectives! Couple that with the games and exercises provided by our teachers and they are sure to have an experience they will never forget.

Again, our most popular format for the next generation. Their imaginations get to run wild as they create stories based on what interests them most! They know what they want to say, the stories they want to tell, and our experienced teachers help guide them through the intricacies of storytelling so they can get their point across in their own inimitable ways.

Now is your chance! Learn how to audition, rehearse and perform in a play written by someone else. Every actor needs to learn to tell a story that is not their own. Our teachers will help your children learn to create a character, explore their backgrounds and tell their stories.
